IN-FORM Mistley continued their winning ways with a seven-wicket success at Hadleigh, on Saturday.

It was their fourth straight success in division one of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship.

And that stunning run has seen them rocket from the lower reaches of the table up to fifth.

Jason Pembroke and Tim Scott both took three wickets - ably supported by James Scott, who took two - as hosts Hadleigh batted first and were bowled out for just 145.

Tim Scott also took two catches and there was a maiden first-team wicket for Michael Johnson.

Mistley then followed up their impressive bowling and fielding performance by chasing down the runs they needed for the loss of just three wickets.

Wicketkeeper Graeme Butcher, who had earlier taken three smart catches, opened the batting and scored an unbeaten 47.

He forged a key partnership with skipper Daniel Goff, which added 72 runs. Goff contributed 45.

Mistley will be hoping to make it five wins in a row in tomorrow's contest at Haverhill.

There was also success for the Swans' second team, in their Two Counties Championship division three contest at home to Haverhill seconds.

After restricting the Suffolk side to 139 all out, Mistley got home with three wickets to spare to pocket all 20 points.

The stars of the show were Aaron Rudkin and Jimmy Goff, who both plundered four wickets, while opening batsman and wicketkeeper James Garwood top-scored with 30.

Mistley's second team are third from bottom in division three ahead of tomorrow's trip to Halstead.

In division five, Harwich and Dovercourt won by 53 runs at home to Bury St Edmunds thirds.

After batting first and declaring for 192 for five, they skittled their Suffolk visitors for just 139.

Adeel Abbas top-scored with an excellent 95 and then took a five-for, returning five for 41 in his 16 overs.

Harwich are fourth in division five and go to Earl Stonham tomorrow.
