FIRST-ROUND matches were played in the Harwich Men’s League Knockout Cup.
In the competition’s A division, Hanover A won 7-4 at the Golf Club while Little Oakley A beat the Squirrels 6-5.
Damien Smith, for Oakley, won the sixth game in the singles for his club, while Andy Bacon had a 111 finish and Kevin Mucklow scored a 180.
Ind Coope B beat United Services Club 9-2.
The three games played in the B division all ended with 6-5 wins for the home club.
R/A Club’s Andrew Perry won his singles game to make it 5-5 against the Luney Club.
Malcolm Carter then won the last game for the R/A Club to go through to the next round.
Steve Powell, for the R/A, scored a 180.
In the local derby, the Shakers’ Lee Knight won the very last game against neighbours British Flag for a 6-5 win.
For the Flag, Lloyd Smith had a 108 shot-out.
Cherry Tree came from behind against old rivals Royal Oak.
Going into the singles, the Oak were 3-2 and 5-4 up. However, the last two singles games were won by the Cherry Tree, with Keith Abbott victorious in the last game for a 6-5 win.

The quarter-final draw for the league’s Knockout Cup was made on Monday night.
The ties will be played on December 11.
