FC CLACTON completed the double over neighbours BRANTHAM ATHLETIC after winning 2-0 in tonight’s Thurlow Nunn League derby at the Rush Green Bowl.
Adam Daniels and Steve Eaton netted their second-half goals in the premier division contest.
Centre-half Daniels scored in the 71st minute, connecting with Kevin Coyle’s inswinging corner to send an unstoppable bullet header past Brantham keeper Ryan Bedingfield.
Eaton then doubled the hosts’ lead on 80 minutes, pouncing to turn the ball home from close range after Bedingfield could only parry Coyle’s free-kick.
Clacton had won 1-0 at Brantham back in August.
Elsewhere tonight, STANWAY ROVERS bounced back from Saturday’s FA Cup disappointment to win 4-2 at Whitton United.
