BRANTHAM Athletic are off to Wembley.

Paul Abrahams’ side visit the Spartan South Midlands League team in a FA Vase second-round tie tomorrow, having been given a bye to this stage as a reward for last season’s run to the last 32.

And they hope it will be the start of another adventure in the competition that takes them back to the same area next year – except this time to the iconic Wembley Stadium “It’s a big game that generates extra interest,” said Abrahams.

“And it’s one we must enjoy, because we have a genuine opportunity to go all the way in a national competition.

“That’s the way we have to look at, because I firmly believe that on our day we’re capable of beating any side.

“We’re not in it just to make the numbers up and the prize up for grabs is something none of us would ever forget – the opportunity to play in a cup final at Wembley.

“It’s not going to be easy.

“It would take a lot of hard work and some exceptional performances, but there’s a genuine chance to progress and that’s a big carrot for us all.”
