SEVERAL members of Harwich and Dovercourt Golf Club’s veterans’ section enjoyed a day at Gorleston Golf Club.
The event was organised by Charlie Dennis and won by the in-form Chris Day, with 40 points.
Andy Leatherdale was second, with 35, on countback from Ken Stapleton.
Having won the October Basil Warner competition, Day then went on to win the Dot Com Swindle on Saturday, with 44 points.
Several of the lady members enjoyed their last social event of the season – the ladies’ captain’s away day, at Birch Grove. Playing a waltz stableford competition in threes, the winners were Pauline Rowe, Glynis Hutchence and Joan Lyon, with 63 points.
In second were Jane Hurst, Phyllis Boddy and Beryl Matthews, with 58.
Nearest the pin was won by Pauline Rowe.
Captain Chris Bradford presented the winners with their prizes.
