LITTLE Oakley FC are keeping their feet planted on the ground – despite plundering an avalanche of goals in their first game of the season.

The Acorns kicked-off the new Essex and Suffolk Border League campaign by thrashing Great Bentley 11-3, on Saturday.

It was an explosive start, heading into tomorrow’s premier division match at home to Alresford.

But joint-boss Sean Tynan says there is no chance of anyone getting carried away.

“Expectations from the outside are very high,” he said.

“People are expecting us to do well, but those on the inside are keeping our feet on the ground.

“We’ve got a three-year project and if we can finish higher than last year it will be a real achievement.

“No-one will be getting carried away."
