Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Cllr Pankit Shah praised the "relentless dedication" of leaders and volunteers at the Trefoil Guild's annual review.

The Trefoil Guild is an adult equivalent of Brownies and Girl Guides, and is open for anyone aged 18 or over to make friends and get involved in new challenges.

Various groups of 'old Guides' were amalgamated by the Guide Association, adopting the name 'Trefoil Guild' in 1943.

While many members have been or are still actively involved in Girlguiding, no previous knowledge of the Guide or Scout movements is necessary.

Each guild decides on its programme, which can include everything from holidays abroad and adventure challenges to supporting community events.

There are also national challenges which guilds can get involved with - including the STARS challenge (Skills, Together, Action, Roam, Self) and the Voyage award - which helps members improve their existing skills and learn new ones.
