RADIO 1 star presenter Greg James has said he "would love" to come to Harwich during a live broadcast of his prime-time show.
Last week the DJ was bombarded with tweets from students and staff at Harwich and Dovercourt High School asking him to visit and open their new radio station.
Head of media Pippa Parks called on the whole community to join the campaign to encourage him to come to the town.
And on Monday night during the drivetime broadcast Greg thanked the school for getting in touch and said the new station, called Harwich Waves, was a great name.
The 29-year-old presenter went on to read out last week's story in the Harwich and Manningtree Standard about the school's Twitter campaign.
