A VILLAGE wildlife pond is having a £2,000 tidy-up.
The pond on the Lawford Dale estate has become silted up and overgrown.
Tendring Council is carrying out the work, which has included dredging the pond. A similar scheme was last carried out 15 years ago and included constructing barrier fencing and dressing paths with wood chippings.
Council leader Mick Page said the amenity was well-used by residents.
“The pond is on a large area of public open space on this estate which was built up in the 1990s,” he said.
