RESIDENTS say village roads won’t be able to cope with hundreds of new cars to come from a mooted estate of 360 homes.

Calvin Chamberlain, of Milton Road, Lawford, has raised concerns over the land set aside in the Tendring Council draft Local Plan for housing off Bromley Road in the village.

At the latest Lawford Parish Council meeting he criticised the plans, which are extra to the 100 already proposed for the future by developer Rose Builders.

“We’re already overstretched," he said.

“I understand homes have to be built – someone has to say enough is enough.”

Mr Chamberlain also raised concerns over where the access to the site would be.

Tendring and Lawford councillor Carlo Guglielmi said there were no concrete plans in place for the builds and reassured residents that public consultation would give them a chance to have their say before any decisions are made in the future.
